This spectacular scene of Clarke Quay is one of the impressionist’s most loved and treasured piece of urban scenery in his watercolour portfolio. It is definitely not simply another Singapore street scene, this is quite a complicated sketch of the noble classical architecture variation that he had to put in extra effort to ensure the accuracy of the scene was achieved before applying watercolour.
