Diana started her first formal art education at Nanyang Academy of Fine Art in the year 1986. In the academy she was taught with different painting techniques in various mediums. After her graduation at the academy, she had chosen to continue pursuing for better watercolour painting techniques under the tutorage of famous watercolourist Mr. Loy Chye Chuan.
Diana Lim won the Shell Discovery Art Award in 1998. Soon After that she decided to take up art as her fulltime career, she became a qualified art instructor by People's Association and started teaching in several community centres and in the venue of residents’ committees located at various residential areas, the 365 Cancer Prevention Centre, Fei Yue Family Centre as well as in her own private studio.
With her strong passion in art, Diana formed a sketching group with the name “Happy sketchers” in 2018. Currently there are about 80 members, and they are actively sketching on site at many locations of the island.
Diana Lim is member of Singapore Watercolour Society, life member of the Society of Chinese Artists, Singapore Art Society, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Alumni Association.
